I have gotten less sleep this past week than ever before. My lack of sleep is due to many reasons, one being that I am a second-semester senior trying to fit it all in. But another reason is that I have picked up a new side hustle!
I have been taking graduation photos for my fellow seniors.
This side hustle has forced me to walk around campus at hours I never have before. Somehow I have made it all four years without having an 8 am or a Friday class. Many call me a pro at Connect Carolina.
So, waking up at 6:30 am has been rather difficult for me. However, I am motivated by being able to walk around such a pretty campus. I have gained even more appreciation for this place.
UNC is consistently ranked amongst the most beautiful campuses in the United States. It is not just the historical architecture, 100-year-old trees, and acclaimed sports arenas that make this place so beautiful, it is the people. "The people make the place," and although Chapel Hill could not be more beautiful, the people are what make this place so special.
Rather I have known them for a semester, since my first year here, or my whole life, I almost shed a tear each time I take a picture of someone in their Carolina blue cap and gown standing on the Old Well.
I feel fortunate that these people trust me with such precious pictures. This side hustle is making my last days here even more bittersweet.
With love,
MLC
Ps. HMU if you need grad pics ;)
