Hello! My first blog post is going to be about why I chose to name my website "Half-Full."
There actually was not much debating in coming up with this title, as I believe it really encompasses how I have always tried to view each aspect of my life. Though it is not always easy to have a "glass half-full" or optimistic mindset, being able to adjust your perception and frame situations that seem "half-empty" is what makes for a happy life-style. This is obviously easier said than done and sometimes takes practice. Optimism has fortunately always come easy to me, for it was not until this past year that my "positive polly" attitude was tested in ways that I was not used to. I am not going to use this blog post to get into any type of sob story, for everything I dealt with was very real-life and part of growing up. Now I am having to diligently teach myself to practice optimism and try harder to see the beauty in this life, regardless of the messy things life throws at me. Do I still have my sad days? Yes. Do I give myself grace, as I know it is okay to just be sad sometimes? Yes. What I have found to be most helpful for me is journaling, exercising, and ultimately surrounding myself with my people who feel like home. I hope to add blogging to this list of things that help me practice living life with a "half-full" mindset and spread positivity to those who might follow along!
With love,
